Airtel GPRS Speed Test, Review and Tariffs

Recently I have been using the mobile office on Airtel for browsing internet on my mobile as well as connecting to the PC. The results are good, I have been using the 2GB at Rs.98 per month pack. This pack can be activated through easy recharge or through mChek service.
Activation
- Easy recharge for Rs.98 at any retail outlet asking for the unlimited internet pack. You can also activate yourself by dialling *567# and activating by following the instructions there, but you need to have Rs.98 + 1 balance in your main account.
- Once you do this you will get the settings, which you need to save and activate it.
- Once done, the mobile office will be activated within an hour.
Internet on Mobile
- To check the remaining balance in your internet account you need to dial *123*10#
- Just press and hold the ’0′ key on your nokia mobile and you will get connected to the internet. For any other mobile go to internet or browsing options and you will find a mobile browser.
- In case your mobile don’t have a browser install mobile browser like Opera mini or UCweb browser.
Internet on PC or Laptop
- Here you need a data cable to connect your cell to the PC or Laptop.
- You also need to install the PC software like PC suite for Nokia mobile, Samsung studio for Samsung mobiles.
- Once done, you can connect to internet through your mobile by using the options in the PC suite.
Speed Test of Airtel GPRS
I tested the speed of airtel GPRS on speedtest.net and below are the results.
I believe this much speed is more than enough for people who download less and use internet only for checking mails etc, so why spend much on other ISP’s when you can manage at just Rs.98 per month. Let me tell that, the 2GB per month is more than enough.
Check out the other Airtel GPRS packs as well.

these days, its only 1GB download and moreover its valid for only 21 days.. maybe after some few months, it will go dowqn to 500MB for 11 days.. of course with the same amount of recharge or who knows..at this rate.. even higher.
if looking for good speed n connectivity, i suggest Aircel. m using Airtel too, and my connection is ok..i use it only for mails. but i know many people that share the same frustration issues.. and they changed their no’s to Aircel.. and seems its much better now. personally for me, i continue to use Airtel. have been using the same no for the past 9 years now..:)

Airtel GPRS is one of the ‘GHATIYA’, ‘FALTU”, and ‘SADELA’ service. i personaly reccomend u all not to use this service. it takes more tnah 20 minutes to open Google website.
i m getting speed in bytes, like 100 bytes/second and less…..

Hi Raj, looks like you are too much frustrated with Airtel. I have been using Airtel for the past 3 years, I have also tried other GPRS networks like Tata Docomo, Reliance etc but as per my experience Airtel is the best. May be you are not getting proper signal so you facing this problem.
