I just bought this phone at mnvcollections.com and got it delivered to my house. This is neat phone, small and nifty to hold. The camera is a bit on the grainy side, but at this price I was hardly expecting the kind of quality that you get in a Nokia phone anyway. Yippee!!!

I have the same model Micromax Q5C and have been facing problems like
Not getting the SMS sender’s number
It takes lots of attempt to connect any call until I reboot it
Continuous beep during call waiting, even thou that person stop to calling me but I can see his number on display.
So, it seems, this is a common problem

Thats very sad to hear Manav, usually software problems like the one you are facing cannot be resolved. So next time make a good research before buying a mobile phone.

This is not with regards to the mobile ..
I was using a tata indicom card and it wouldnt work..
I tried the Reliance Card and it works fine..
The problem is not in Cities.. The problem is only in remote places or in roaming..

Hi Rajesh, feature wise micromax mobiles are good. But the service after sales, software bugs are common in micromax.

If you have a Reliance Network, it would work.
It does not work fine on a tata Indicom Network
Since i had to get mine replaced..
The problem i couldnt get mine fixed for the same.. Since i had a tata indicom card.

Having the same problem with the sms being received by sender name is not displayed nor able to track..
Could you give us an online solution once you contact the Micromax Customer Care.

Ya Sure SRM, I have put a mail to Micromax regarding this problem. They said, they can provide the solution only if the customer approaches them.

i have a micromax q5 handest
i have buy it before 3 months. i have a sms problem i cant read sms, cant send because sms menu not open in my handset.
my handset aslo have problem in wap. wap page cannot be open. when i am going to open there seen please wait and again only wap will be seen.i cant use wap
when i am going to format the phone there are seem devise busy therefore not able to format the phone
please help me.

Hi Bunty, Very sorry to hear about your problem. I suggest you to go to the Micromax Customer service and ask for a free replacement handset provided your warranty still exists.

Same problem here. The number or the name of a sms sender won’t get displayed. First i thought may be it is because of a normal t-sim. Then i changed it over to omh sim thinking it will work. I would have changed the sim to omh anyway, but didn’t do because of lack of time. Finally even after doing its not working. So, it seems, this is a common problem. Service is really poor in mysore.

Its very bad to hear that DJ, what I suggest you is try contacting the Micromax Guys & tell them your problem. They should be able to solve your problem or atleast provide you with a replacement mobile. Also put a mail to the micromax marketing officer.

I did sent a mail to them at info@micromaxinfo.com, for which i never got any reply. However i do not know the email of the marketing officer. Can you please provide the same. I even mailed the local support, but nobody replied.

DJ, even I din’t get the e-mail address, what you can do is, lodge a complaint against micromax at any of the consumer complaint forums, sending a copy of the complaint to micromax, it should help you.

Same problem I also have with SMS problem.
one more problem I found that when any call is connected same time any person try to call me countinue beep is going on even thou That person stop to calling me but I can see his number on display.

Hi Pradeep,
Good to find someone who could advise on the QC5 model of Micromax. Even I have the same model and have been facing this problem of not getting the SMS sender’s number. I did go to the local customer care in Lucknow, but they said that since the model is newly launched, they are not having much knowledge about it… hence clueless. Could not suggest any options, but to bear with it.
Pradeep, can you help me reach out to the Micromax tech team (preferably online) to get their help in sorting the problem.

I am unable to transfer files from phone to PC and viceversa even after installation of drivers available in CD. PC do not show USB device when phone is connected to PC via data cable. I have tried it in Windows 2k3 and win’7. kindly help.

Sanjay, I Suggest you call the customer care of Reliance & ask for assistance regarding the settings.
Also I suggest you to make sure you save the settings once you receive it from Reliance.

I suggest you to take your phone to any one of the micromax customer care center & let them know your problem. I hope your phone’s warranty is still not over. In this case you can ask for a replacement handset.

hi,
i am too facing this problem…no sms names/no. while roaming, while in general profile no ringing or abrupt ringing, some times while making calls no sound ..hav to restart the phone to listen to the sounds.
please tell what to do…

Its sad to hear that Siddharth, such software problems can be solved by reporting the problem to Micromax. Once you do this, they will update the software and you can update your phone software.
