Today I got s chance to experience the Airtel 3G internet at one of their demo centers. They had kept 2 mobile phones, which were being used as PC modem, the two mobiles used where, Samsung Galaxy & Nokia N8. Also they had kept 2 setups where, 3G USB internet dongles were used.

The internet speed supported by the USB dongle was awesome & I got very much excited to see that speed. They were able to demonstrate a speed of up to 2.5Mbps at a heavily crowded location, where usually the internet speeds will be at the lowest. Even though I did not get a chance to test the internet speed on ‘phone as modem’ setup, since there was heavy crowd, I can say the speeds with surely match.

So just imagine what speed would the Airtel 3G internet give if you have good enough signal strength. Airtel 3G is supposed to be rolled out in most of the circles in Indian by the end of 2010. They have already installed the 3G equipments, and now they are in a mode of testing those. So we can expect Airtel 3G very soon, may be a couple of weeks more.

I just hope the Airtel 3G tariff plans will be optimal, so that all can afford that, although the chances of being it low, is very less, since they have paid huge money to the government for the spectrum, I am just hoping that it will go easy on peoples pocket.
